This style "prop" bait has been around for many years, and had caught many fish, but there was definitley room for improvement. The first thing that Larry did, was change the year prop on this bait from standard metal that's found on many lures like these, to a soft plastic. This change not only gives these baits a different sound from other baits, but also collapses when a fish strikes, allowing you better hooksets and less lost fish. Being made of a durable hard plastic body, these baits are not only able to handle the abuse of being cast onto shore, and against bridge pilings, but also prevent toothy critters from getting their teeth stuck in the bait, making it harder to move the bait to get a good hookset. The Whopper Plopper features a "roll resistant" design, and can be retrieved at a variety of speeds with great results! After the popularity of the larger, musky sized version of the Whopper Plopper, River2Sea came out with a smaller bass sized bait that has all the same great fish-catching features of it's larger sibling, but is half the size. Both baits come outfitted with super strong sticky-sharp R2S hooks, and are ready to throw right out of the package! Combine these features with a great range of colors, and you have one of the best topwaters on the market today!!
